NH Bank: A Transformational Success Story
Introduction
The first iPECS Insights session of 2025 focused on major customer success stories from Korea. Hosted by Hangsuk Cho, Sales Engineer at iPECS, and joined by Byunghoon Min, Head of Korea Enterprise Sales Team, the session showcased how iPECS has helped NH Bank achieve seamless communication transformation over the years.
About NH Bank
NH Bank, part of the National Agricultural Cooperative Federation (NH), is Korea’s largest cooperative financial institution, with over 5,000 branches and more than two million farming household members. With a significant role in banking, insurance, and retail, NH Bank required a highly stable and scalable communication infrastructure.
The Challenge
NH Bank had historically relied on third-party telephony solutions but faced persistent concerns regarding product stability, vendor reliability, and limited R&D capabilities. With growing demand for more advanced and customized solutions, NH sought a strategic partner capable of delivering enhanced functionality and seamless integration.

KEPCO: Enhancing Mission-Critical Communications
Introduction
The session also featured an in-depth look at KEPCO (Korea Electric Power Corporation), Korea’s primary electricity provider. Presented by Kay Kyungwook Choi, Head of Sales Engineering, the case study focused on KEPCO’s communication transformation, ensuring reliability and efficiency for its critical infrastructure.
About KEPCO
Founded in 1898 and officially becoming KEPCO in 1982, the company supplies electricity across Korea, with headquarters in Naju and 15 regional offices nationwide. Given its role in national power distribution, KEPCO requires an ultra-reliable communication system.
The Challenge
KEPCO’s existing communication network relied on fragmented PBX and key telephone systems, leading to inefficiencies. The company sought a centralized, high-availability solution with integrated recording and enhanced user functionality.
iPECS Solution & Implementation
- Unified Communication Manager (UCM): Deployment of iPECS UCM S10K at regional headquarters, ensuring a streamlined, centralized infrastructure.
- Mission-Critical Reliability: Active standby redundancy and a high-availability structure for the iPECS IPCR (call recording system) enhanced stability.
- Integration with Emerging Technologies: KEPCO introduced Speech-to-Text (STT) for automated transcription and leveraged iPECS IP video phones for command operations.
- Customized Expansion: KEPCO implemented an advanced operator module (AOM) for seamless command-and-control operations.
Results & Future Outlook
With 10 out of 15 regions successfully transitioned to iPECS solutions, KEPCO has significantly improved its communication efficiency and reliability. The next phase will complete the rollout across remaining regions, further solidifying iPECS’ role as a trusted partner for Korea’s essential infrastructure.
Closing Remarks
The session concluded with an open Q&A, encouraging partners to reach out for further collaboration and insights. Looking ahead, iPECS Insights will continue to highlight transformative customer success stories and explore new opportunities with iPECS Cloud.
