In a powerful demonstration of how telecommunications technology can create meaningful social impact, Blue Technologies, iPECS partner in Greece, has provided essential communication infrastructure to one of Greece’s most vital support organizations through its innovative iPECS Cloud platform.

HERMES, established in September 1988 by parents, guardians, and friends of people with disabilities (including intellectual disabilities, Down syndrome, autism, and multiple disabilities), has grown to become one of Greece’s largest support structures for individuals with special needs. Over its 37-year history, the organization has implemented numerous pioneering programs and established valuable international collaborations, helping more than 1,600 people achieve socio-economic integration.

Two years ago, when HERMES relocated to a new purpose-built facility designed specifically for people with disabilities, Blue Cloud of Blue Technologies, with iPECS Cloud was uniquely positioned to deliver the specialized communication infrastructure required. The platform’s flexibility, adaptability, security features, and customizable solutions have proven invaluable to the organization’s daily operations.

Recognizing recent financial challenges faced by this vital non-profit organization, Deputy Regional Governor of Education of Attica, Errika Prezerakou, and Blue Technologies CEO Konstantinos Nirgiannakis have demonstrated exemplary corporate social responsibility. Through their initiative, iPECS Cloud call center and fixed telephony services will now be provided to HERMES as a sponsored service, ensuring uninterrupted access to these critical communication tools.

A special ceremony celebrating this partnership was held on Wednesday, March 26, 2025, at the HERMES facility in Elliniko. The event highlighted how the state-of-the-art iPECS Cloud telecommunication platform specifically supports individuals with special needs. The Association’s administration, staff, guardians, and especially the individuals with disabilities warmly welcomed distinguished guests, including Mr. Reggie Shin, Head of International Sales, and Mr. Jeff Lim, Senior Account Manager of iPECS, who received a comprehensive tour of the facility from Mr. Angelos Koutoumanos, General Manager of the HERMES Association.

This partnership exemplifies how innovative telecommunications solutions, when deployed with purpose and compassion, can create transformative support systems for organizations serving our most vulnerable community members.
